Position Description:
Barrick is looking for a Recruiter to join the Barrick Nevada Recruiting team to collaborate, support, influence and communicate with the Human Resources Business Partners and hiring managers on employment process and procedures to find people to join the Barrick team.
Gather details from the hiring manager and set expectations regarding the recruiting process
Plan sourcing campaign including posting to external job boards, print ads, internal candidates and time for direct sourcing of candidates.
Develop and manage candidate list
Screen and assess candidates based on criteria established at the outset of the via telephone and/or face to face interviews
Forward candidates to hiring manager and gather initial feedback on the candidate's profile
Maintain weekly updates with client group re. progress of search
Directly manage the engagement of an external recruiting agency when they are required
Oversee actions of external agency ensuring to screen candidates and manage remainder of recruitment process
Manage candidate/hiring team interview process and ensure Targeted Selection tools and methods are used
Ensure details of candidate's compensation are clearly understood
Utilize the recruiting database and other computer programs (Taleo, Oracle, Markview, and MS Office)
Participate in various Recruiting and Human Resource projects as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with an emphasis on a business-related field preferred
Previous Recruiting experience is must, mining industry experience is an asset
Valid driver's license required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
Strong work ethic, excellent relationship building and negotiation skills required
Ability to cooperate effectively with all levels of management and staff required
Ability to travel for extended periods of time required
Experience with applicant tracking systems (i.e., Taleo) preferred
Experience with public speaking preferred
Strong experience with Microsoft Office products, web-based social media and tablet applications preferred

Barrick Nevada is an integrated gold mining operation that combines the Cortez and Goldstrike properties in Nevada, employing a total of 3,000 employees and 800 contractors. The operation utilizes both open pit and underground mining methods with Autoclave and Roaster processing facilities at Goldstrike and Milling/Heap Leaching facilities at Cortez.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
