Reporting to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer ACNO, the Nurse Director of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit NICU will be managing 35 bed level III NICU.
The infants in this unit may require ventilation with conventional, jet, oscillator, or NCPAP ventilation.
Nitric Oxide may also be used in this unit.
PDA ligation, laser eye surgery for ROP and bronchoscopy are a few procedures that are performed in the NICU.
Procedures not performed are ECMO and cardiac invasive procedure or surgery.
The Nurse Director of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit NICU will work in the unit that has a transport team to facilitate acceptance of Level II & III infants from surrounding hospitals.
Safe Patient Handling Equipment located on each unit or available to each to unit to assist staff to safely and appropriately mobilize patients including repositioning in bed, ambulating, lateral transferring or transferring to chair/commode.
The Nurse Director of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit NICU will ensure the department's effective operation on both internal functions and the integration into the organization's overall operation.
The Nurse Director of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit NICU will help to create an environment or culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission and meet or exceed its goals and also to promote positive atmosphere.
